چکیده

Abstract Introduction Establishing neurological prognosis after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) safely and early in those patients who remain a coma at 72 hours of admission. Purpose To analyze the prognostic performance neuron-specific enolase (NSE), Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) electroencephalogram (EEG) these patients. Methods Prospective observational study, including all OHCAs admitted to Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) tertiary hospital. Neurological stratification was performed with NSE (poor >60 ng/mL), SSEP absence N20) EEG prognosis). The sensitivity specificity each test for poor were calculated, as well three tests together. Results Between 03/17/2013 02/24/2022, 422 registered, which 170 remained hours. had 84% 89% due prognosis. SSEPs 68% 98% 67% 100% able be on 110 patients, combined 49% 100%. Conclusions In OHCA, most specific establish sensitive EEG. combination Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Neurological outcome of prolonged coma survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Nine adult survivors of out-of-hospital presumed cardiogenic cardiac arrest, who remained unresponsive for longer than their third hospital day and who eventually were discharged from the acute care hospital, are reported. Their neurological outcome fell into three distinct categories: (a) a persistent vegetative state, (b) able to follow some simple commands but requiring total nursing care, a...

Effects of prehospital epinephrine administration on neurological outcomes in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

BACKGROUND To determine if the effects of epinephrine administration on the outcome of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), patients are associated with the duration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed by Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel. METHODS This retrospective, nonrandomized, observational analysis used the All-Japan Utstein Registry, a prospective, nationwide pop...
